In the Sui and Tang dynasties, there was a moray fish as a decoration.

This jade moray fish has a pointed nose, special eyes, and a lotus leaf engraved under the mouth, which is the mouth of the lotus root, but only the lotus leaf (closely related to the ancient Indian Buddhism, which highly respected the lotus). There are long and short-toothed fins at the tail. Three hexagonal star-shaped patterns are carved on the end of the fish. The tail fins spread out into a beautiful fan shape, but the fish has a foot near the lower end of the tail! This fish has the same pattern on both sides, but on the other side there is no lotus leaf under the mouth(because it is impossible to have two lotus leaves on a lotus stem)
