The Jade Thumb Ring is in the shape of an inclined cylinder. It is worn on the thumb of the right hand as a hook string (archery). The high-end back is engraved with geometric patterns, and the lower part is carved with a groove for hook string. The low-end front is embossed with animal face pattern, and the lower part has two holes for wearing rope on the wrist to prevent falling off.  Thumb Ring is also known as "Jue". According to the note of Village Learning Shooting Ceremony, Book of Rites,  "Thumb ring is to use elephant bones, with the right finger and the hook string." Thumb ring is attached to the right thumb. "When archery, wearing a thumb ring can protect the thumb, but the jade thumb ring is slippery and vulnerable, so it is not practical. The royal nobles are mostly showing off.

The "jade thumb ring" (now also known as "jade ring finger") unearthed from Lady Hao tomb in Yin Ruins is very famous in the world! It has the same shape and system as this jade  thumb ring, each with its own merits, which is very rare!
