C021 Dragon Pattern Jade Carving Knife (Length: 11.07cm)

Dragon pattern: The shape of the Chinese character "臣",  has a foot, which is a more common feature of the dragon pattern carved in the Yin and Shang dynasties. In the Shang and Zhou dynasties, paper was not invented. They were written on bamboo or wooden slabs with lacquer or ink. If they were wrong, they were rewritten with a small knife. Generally, they were made with metal knives, and some were made of jade for display. It may not be as sharp as a metal knife, but a jade knife can be beautifully carved and can be perforated for decoration.

This dragon-pattern jade carving knife has a perforation in the mouth of the dragon and can also be used as an adornment. The pattern is the same on both sides.
