C025 Kneeling Jade Person (Sanxingdui Phase III) (Height: 6.53cm)

(from the end of Shang Dynasty to the beginning of Western Zhou Dynasty)

This jade person has the same sculptural form as the jade man made in the Bronze Age of Sanxingdui II. Its face is not like the strange form of the so-called alien, but like the earth man, but not like the Central Plains man, because there is still a bit of bronze man sculpture. We can see the difference from the face of the jade man.

This jade person has begun to be a bit realistic, if the two breasts are more prominent, this should indicate that the woman is sitting with her hands on her belly and kneeling. Sitting on the knees is the sitting posture of the Shang and Zhou dynasties. There is elephant trunk perforation behind the neck to wear. The jade people have no crown decoration, which is different from the nobles of the Central Plains, so it should also be the relic of the third phase of Sanxingdui, Guanghan, Sichuan.
