Two jade pigs seem to be Lantian jade, with blue color. It is ancient and simple. It has a good luster and a strong ancient taste, which is a simple style of the ancient times.

From ancient times to today, people regard pigs as wealth, and wear a jade pig on their body.

In the Neolithic age, there were jade pigs, mostly body fat. At that time, there was the belief that the soul could not be destroyed. It was believed that after death, his soul still lived like a living person, and gradually evolved into a thick burial. From the tombs of the Neolithic age, a lot of funerary objects have been found, among which the hand holds some objects, and the purpose cannot bear to go away empty handed. In the Shang and Zhou dynasties, this atmosphere was even more prevalent. The thing in his hand was called "jade porpoise". The porpoise was a pig. Generally, the jade dolphins are simple square-pillar prone pigs.  The jade porpoise was more popular in the Han Dynasty, and the sculptors were simpler and larger.             This pair of jade pigs are also prone and small in size. They are not jade pendants because they have no holes. They are used to hold jade porpoises. The upper ends of the four legs of the two jade pigs are all carved with cloud patterns. Therefore, they are not jade porpoises of the Han Dynasty. There is no cloud pattern on jade porpoises of the Han Dynasty. The jade carving of two jade pigs should be the Western Zhou Dynasty or later.
