A047 Hongshan Culture Large Jade Tortoise with Jade Dragon Jue (length: 23.20cm, width: 15.80cm)

This turtle is similar to the small Jade Turtle (4.8cm long) found in the tomb (Hongshan Culture) of hutougou village, Fuxin County, Liaoning Province.

This large jade tortoise with its neck stretched forward and its head looking up to the sky, and its eyes are very big and round (it was made by using a large pipe drill; from the Shang Dynasty to the spring and Autumn period, the pipe drill seemed to have been lost, and it was found to be used only in the Warring States period). It can also be proved that this is the time ware of Hongshan culture. On the back of the arc of the jade tortoise, there is a jade dragon Jue with a high relief on the back, which has never been seen before; the four feet and tail are obvious, and the whole body is light and plain.

Such a unique large-scale jade tortoise sculpture is very rare. It actually appeared in the Hongshan culture thousands of years ago. The jade tortoise is very realistic, more precious, and its value is hard to estimate.
