This pair of jade sword ornaments "Wei", is estimated to be a pair of male and female swords in the Han Dynasty.  One full set of jade sword ornament is composed of: sword head(Peng),  Wei, Shui, Pi. Historical records claim that this was the warring States  (late period) introduced by foreign Hu people. It became more popular in the  Han Dynasty, and the male and female swords often appeared in the Han Dynasty.

This pari jade ornament: The texture, craft and style are the same, should be craved by the same person , but unfortunately the other three of the set has disappeared!

This pair of jade dragons are mother and son. The size of the two dragons is slightly different. The son of a dragon is not seen in the lower body.  It is in the clouds, which means "dragon hidding in the cloud."  The slightly differences just shows that the male and female swords are different, but it is good evidence for future generations to prove that they are one pair!
